Chirp, Chirp! 2024
A real-time performance, created in collaboration with Zhexing Huang, utilized MaxMSP and a high-order ambisonic system at Studio for Research in Sound and Technology (SRST) in RISD.
The soundscape combines recordings from a Teenage Engineering Pocket Operator, modular synthesizers, field recordings of arcade noise, and bird songs from Tokyo subway station radio broadcasts, echoing the surge of wind between tracks. Two gamepads were used for live routing of sound signals within the high-order ambisonic system, with their positions mapped as Mario and Luigi in the Max patch.
